The “thank you” prayer

Posted on August 3rd, 2008 by Honney

The three of us usually play in bed before going to sleep. Daddy and Greggy sometimes wrestle. There are nights that I would do story-telling. Then when we are all sleepy and tired, our son we’ll pray his own personalized “Thank You” prayer. I taught him to say “thank you” to Papa Jesus for all the toys and candies (in short, blessings!) that he receives each day. Sometimes his prayer gets way too long because he’s got a lot to be thankful for that day. :-)

Sometimes he would say,

“Papa Jesus, thank you for the cotton candy…
Thank you for the milk…
Thank you for the toys…
Thank you for the food…
Thank you for my mommy and daddy…
Good night. Amen po.”

Then he would turn to me and his daddy to kiss us both and would say “good night”. :-)
