Hand-me-down

Posted on April 28th, 2010 by Honney

The other day, I caught my son rummaging through his toy box. I asked what he was looking for. He said he’s looking for toys that he could pass on to his little sister.

“Really?” I asked happily, feeling proud of my little boy’s voluntary effort.
“Yes po.” He replied as he continued to search inside the box.

A few minutes later, he rushed to our room and excitedly showed me and his dad the toys he found for his baby sister.

“Mommy, look!” He exclaimed as he handed the toys to me. We told him that we were so thankful and proud of what he did. Not only did he help us save money, he also proved to us that it’s never too early to be generous to others. That at an early age, he knows the value of giving.

If there’s one thing that makes me truly proud of my son, it would be his generous heart. Countless times, he chooses to share whatever he has with others (toys, food, candies, etc.), when it’s much normal to just keep them all to himself. He’s just a kid, people would understand anyway.

With my son’s little act of kindness, once again I was reminded that it is more blessed to give than to receive. And as parents, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing our kids doing the right thing no matter how young they are.

Have a blessed day ahead!

STICKY POST: Lost images

Posted on April 13th, 2010 by Honney

Images on this blog were lost due to a system crash a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I don’t have a back up of my themes, plugins and uploads folders so I lost all my files (except for my posts which is a good thing).

This week, I’ll start re-uploading all the images on my posts manually. Sigh. Btw, I already transferred this blog to a new host. I just hope I made the right choice.

Ready for EN2010!

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by Honney

We finally got a ticket for the Every Nation 2010 World Conference (EN2010). It only happens once every three years, so we can’t miss this event no matter what. EN2010 is a time when pastors, missionaries, church planters, members from all around the world gather together for a time of powerful worship and fellowship! It’s gonna be one amazing event!

The Philippine Registration started today at 12 NN. I guess Ticket World did not anticipate such a huge number of participants that’s why their system crashed for a few hours. I tried registering online and by phone, but to no avail. It’s a good thing my husband also went to National Bookstore to grab a ticket. It took us more than three hours waiting for our turn (the line was too long + system outage), but who cares? It was worth the wait!

We already have the ticket on the first day of registration. Thank God!

So blessed to be registed on the 1st day! Hehe.

It’s my first time to join in this kind of event, so you can just imagine how excited and thrilled I am now.

To those attending, see you all on July 22-24 at SMX!

Blessed Sunday #4: A little distracted

Posted on February 21st, 2010 by Honney

I have a confession to make.

I got a little distracted during the service a while ago. I tried to keep my focus on what Pastor Paolo’s teaching us about God and Government, but deep inside the movie fan in me kept screaming wildly. And why not?! Piolo Pascual was sitting behind us! And not only that, he was with Mark Bautista, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Jeffrey Hidalgo and other non-showbiz people. Then a few minutes later, KC Concepcion arrived and sat next to us. And just when I was trying to REALLY focus on that day’s message, Ruffa Gutierrez walked in and sat one row apart from us where her friend Miriam Quiambao was waiting. What a star-studded Sunday we had, eh? I felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest! LOL.

I tried to keep my sanity intact and succeeded on hiding my excitement — that is if you’re taking it from other people’s perspective.

But who am I fooling?

I might have fooled the people around me but I could never fool myself, could I? After all, it’s not everyday that you get to sit next to a hoard of celebrity.  I knew I got a little distracted. And for a second I almost forgot why I was in church in the first place: to worship God and to thank Him for all the blessings he’s given me. We’ve been regularly attending Sunday services at Victory Fort for quite a while now and I am used to seeing one or two celebrities after the service, which is perfectly fine. But to actually be surrounded by quite a number of celebrities during the service is another story. Talk about major distraction! LOL.

Oh well…if this has been a test, then I must have failed miserably. God, forgive me!
